Building Sabah's Landmarks Since 2010

JWA was founded in Kota Kinabalu in 2010 as an architectural and design consultancy, on a simple belief — great projects begin with thoughtful design. As projects grew more complex, clients needed more than design expertise: successful delivery depended equally on quality construction, reliable execution, and accountable project management — a single trusted partner responsible from concept through completion.

Recognising this, JWA evolved into a fully integrated Design & Build company — expanding beyond consultancy to provide construction, project management, procurement, and in-house manufacturing. Today our multidisciplinary team delivers commercial and institutional developments across Sabah, serving corporate organisations, government-linked companies (GLCs), educational institutions, healthcare facilities, industrial clients, and private developers.

Over the past 15 years, JWA has delivered close to 100 projects — from corporate headquarters, offices, warehouses and industrial facilities to schools, hospitals, retail spaces and commercial developments — and is today recognised as one of Sabah's growing commercial construction companies.

First Major Project

CIDB Registration

Got our CIDB registration, making it official: JWA is a licensed construction company, not just an architecture practice.

10-Year Milestone

Ten years in, 80+ projects behind us, and a team that stuck together through it all. Not bad for a Sabah startup.

RM50M+ Capacity

Reached CIDB G7 status -- meaning we can take on projects from RM50 million and above. No more project-size ceiling.

Director

James Wong is the CEO of JWA Group, having led the company's growth from a one-man design studio into a diversified group of companies spanning architectural consultancy, interior solutions, construction, building-material trading, development, and the oil & gas sector. With a strong entrepreneurial mindset, he is passionate about building Sabahan companies that can compete internationally, developing people, and nurturing local talent — his vision is a synergy of companies that support one another while contributing to the growth of Sabah's economy.

Our Architect James Wong is a Registered Professional Architect with Lembaga Architect Malaysia. Ar. James Wong graduated with a Masters of Architecture from New Zealand. We are a CIDB Registered Construction Firm. Studied Earthquake Design Engineering. Course on Green building Index Facilitation.
